Park and Cycle

Park & Cycle is encouraged as part of Devon County Council and Exeter City Councils commitment to promote cycling through the Cycle Exeter Project.

Spaces are available at all Exeter Park and Ride sites.

Who can apply?

Anyone can apply for a permit.

There is an exclusion zone around each site to ensure appropriate use (please see appropriate map)

  • Honiton Road, Sowton and Digby Park and Cycle exclusion zone
  • Matford Park and Cycle exclusion zone

How does it work?

It works in the same way as a Park and Ride but with bicycles. Essentially a user can drive to the Park & Cycle area, park their car, take out their bike and cycle the rest of the way to complete their journey.

Permits are available from the on site attendant for;

  • Single trip use (maximum of five issued per calendar month)
  • A one week period (maximum of one issued per calendar month)

For periods of longer than a week an application form will need to be completed. Permits will only be available for applicants whose onward journey is outside the exclusion zone (please see map). For an application form please speak to on-site attendant or click here

A limited number of lockers for secure bicycle storage are also available at Matford and Sowton Park & Ride sites. Please specify on the application form if you are applying for a locker.

Users wishing to Park & Cycle MUST DISPLAY A VALID PERMIT to avoid incurring a penalty charge.

There is currently no charge to Park & Cycle. This is reviewed annually.

The application form is available online or from the on site attendant.
